The workshop is suitable for all A level specifications and is designed to provide teachers with the personal competences, knowledge and skills to teach and examine M1 Mechanics at A- level. It will focus on developing subject knowledge in addition to providing some practical guidance and learning approaches for teaching the subject.

John is an experienced teacher, author and examiner. He was Professor of Mathematics Education at a university in the south of England for over 20 years. He now teaches A-level Mathematics as the Mathematics Professor in Residence at an independent school and works with groups of able and talented students from Key Stage 3 and 4 in the school, providing an enrichment programme.
Within his freelance role, John runs one-day workshops for able and talented primary and secondary students in mathematics. He has many years’ experience delivering well-received professional development courses for teachers both at a national and an international level. John has published widely, including the Do Brilliantly at Revision guides for AS and A2 Mathematics.
