The course will examine the different leadership styles available and how you can use these to get the best from your team. We will look at how best to communicate your vision to your team and the pupils in your care. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss workload and there are suggestions on time management and how paperwork need not be a problem. There will be time to consider writing a SEF and preparing for OfSTED. Delegates will also learn about the current issues that need to be addressed by mathematics departments.

Samantha is an experienced teacher who has taught in a variety of non-selective schools. She has successfully led a mathematics department in an improving school and was a part time Key Stage 3 Consultant. She is now a Mathematics Adviser and Assessor. Through her advisory work Samantha has worked with many teachers to help improve teaching and learning.
She is an accredited NCETM trainer and works with a local maths hub. Whilst leading a mathematics department she studied and gained a Masters degree in Education Management. She is highly experienced and successful in leading a team of professionals and sets high standards for herself. Samantha has also carried out consultancy work for a large publishing company and lectured on higher education courses.
