Poetry continues to be the genre which inspires the greatest fear and mistrust - amongst teachers as well as pupils. Concerns over form, interpretation and 'relevance' abound. This course aims to provide practical, tried and tested approaches to a selection of the central and possibly more challenging poets found on the specification (Chaucer, Shakespeare, Donne, Milton, Blake). Furthermore, it offers a methodology with which to explore verse at A-Level.
