Accountability is important when running a department and this is often monitored through school observation and local authority reviews, as well as being part of an OfSTED inspection.

This course will support you in making sure that you are prepared for a review situation, at whatever level it is, and also help you to plan for future effective monitoring within your own department. It will update you on all the national pedagogical and curriculum developments and issues within the subject and provide practical advise on how to stay up to date. It will give you the information that you need to ensure that teaching and learning works for your pupils and teachers and give you tips for sharing your vision effectively with the team that you work in. It will also tell you how to observe a lesson and to give feedback in a supportive way to help colleagues in improving achievement and well-being for pupils.
