This is a time of much change for special schools. The new OfSTED framework will be in place from January 2012 and schools will need to ensure that their systems for measuring the many forms of progress across a wide range of needs are fully in place. In addition, becoming an academy is a step which has been taken by a few headteachers in special schools. Understanding the implications of academy status for your own school is essential and learning from those who have already taken the step will be both informative and valuable.
This one-day conference will offer delegates practical strategies to improve provision and outcomes in students' development and achievement. In addition, it will provide updates on the new inspection process and present first-hand feedback from some of the first special school academies. There will be examples of best practice from headteachers and other key professionals from the special education and special schools sector.
Please note the flyers for this course are incorrect: You may choose two seminar options.
