The course examines all aspects of literacy within the Humanities curriculum. The course focuses on literacy skills to raise performance at key stage 3 and 4 with particular emphasis placed on strategies to improve the quality of writing. It will consider practical, explicit ways of developing literacy skills to raise achievement in Humanities.

The course will suggest many ways to support the literacy strategy. It will encourage a growth in student confidence and competence in the quality of reading, writing and speaking and listening. The course will give many practical suggestions and teaching and learning ideas to raise levels/examination performance in Key Stage 3 and 4 by focusing on literacy within Humanities.
