Grids can be linked to provide a framework for pupils’ writing. Full screen grids allow for the creation of multimedia talking books and interactive activities in English and other languages.
Beginner EAL learners can hear words spoken, learn new vocabulary, practise pronunciation, become familiar with basic sentence structures, compose accurate sentences and showcase their work. More advanced EAL learners can be encouraged to extend their use of academic vocabulary and develop their ability to structure texts more confidently within a genre.
This course will enable delegates to unlock the potential of Clicker 5 and use it confidently in the classroom. Delegates will have opportunity to try out a range of practical activities to use Clicker 5 as a tool for learning and consider how it might be most effectively used to develop the language, literacy and learning of EAL pupils across the curriculum.
All delegates will take a away a comprehensive set of course materials from the day, including Clicker 5 instructions and a handout on using special characters and scripts other than English.
