The flexible and open-ended nature of a National Diploma in Music is both its greatest strength and weakness. This course will help both deliverers and heads of department play to the Diploma's strengths, both when considering the rationale when planning for the year and how to implement it most effectively for the typical National Diploma music student.
It will be a chance to refresh and deepen your knowledge of the National Diploma curriculum and discuss innovative ideas for delivering both the academic and practical content in a way that is relevant to your teaching context. This will include how to bring creativity into the 'drier' units and how best to manage the solo and group performance activities. Throughout we will bear in mind what it means to be an 'Outstanding' practitioner in each field.
