An Introduction to Digital Filming and Editing using Windows Movie Maker

The course will introduce the terminology and use of shot types. We will examine the difference between them and will explore their uses. Practical sessions will allow you to complete a short sequence to enable you to move onto the post - production stage. During the day you will learn how to use this software to download your digital video footage and use the editing tools to create a finished movie with title, transitions and music. You will learn how to save your movie for playback on a DVD player or computer and how to send it by email.

The software we will use will be Windows Moviemaker. You will learn to use the Moviemaker interface and how to capture video footage into Moviemaker, import audio and music, work with the storyboard and timeline, use video effects, transitions, titles and credits and save and share your movie.
