Changes in assessment requirements have brought new demands for MFL departments. Teachers of GCSE French, German and Spanish are at the forefront of ensuring that all controlled assessment is carried out in line with JCQ and awarding body guidelines, whilst at the same time enhancing the language learning experience for their students.

This one-day course is for MFL teachers from NQTs to subject Leaders. It will identify realistic approaches to the challenges of the new GCSEs and to the administration and handling of the controlled assessments. The course will be led by a practising teacher and experienced senior examiner who has first-hand experience of tackling controlled assessments. The course will provide clear guidance on how to navigate through the advice given by awarding bodies and offer insight into how to get better grades by pinpointing what is required and how to prepare students accordingly.
