This course will enable teachers to refine approaches to course organisation, subject knowledge, assessment and pedagogy by examining a number of issues relating to the two units of the AS course. The focus will be on effective teaching strategies to develop students' confidence and independent learning skills - in particular looking at how to develop students' broad knowledge of literary concepts through the teaching of set texts and topics. The key concepts in the assessment objectives - writing, context, interpretation, and language, form & structure will be addressed. Delegates will explore a range of resources including worksheets, sample student responses, and other assessment material.
