The course will examine the new German specification at AS and A2 and reflect on the implications for planning and teaching. It will offer ideas to help bridge the gap between GCSE and A level and suggest ways to prepare A2 pupils for the second stage of their course. The course will consider the skills pupils require to be successful at AS and A2 and offer practical examples in the four skill areas to motivate and develop learners at this level. It will look at different ways a department and individual teachers can support students to become more confident and independent. Delegates will also take away ideas on how to use assessment and feedback to ensure students' progress.
The aims of the course are to: * Identify the skills pupils require in order to be successful in the new German A level specification. Look at ways to bridge the gap between GCSE and AS level and AS and A2 * Provide practical teaching ideas to develop the four language skill areas at A level * Suggest ways to support learners to stay organised and motivated to take charge of their learning * Provide practical ideas on how make assessment and feedback a vital tool to success at A level
